Individuals seeking treatment for anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and more can be seen in an outpatient clinic setting in Corinth, Miss. thanks to Magnolia Behavioral Health Clinic, the newest member of Magnolia Regional Health Center’s network of clinics.
In September, Magnolia Behavioral Health Clinic opened its doors to the public to begin seeing patients with mental illnesses. Amanda Ham, ANP-BC, PMHNP-BC, is treating patients who suffer from Anxiety, Depression, PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder), and Bipolar Disorder, among other mental illnesses.
Magnolia Behavioral Health Clinic, along with providing services to treat mental illnesses, provides medication monitoring. Medication monitoring is a crucial aspect of treating a patient with mental illness. According to the National Center of Biotechnology Information (NCBI), typical adherence rates for prescribed medication is only around fifty percent.
“I am honored to be a part of this opportunity,” said Ham. “I am especially grateful that Magnolia Regional Health Center saw the need for increased avenues for patients who suffer from mental illness to be treated and have their medications monitored.”
The clinic, located on 212 Alcorn Drive, has been updated inside and has an inviting presence. There is no shortage of natural light, thanks to the large windows throughout the front of the building. Each exam room features calming paintings and home furnishing, such as rugs and decorative lamps, that work together to make patients feel comfortable and safe. The atmosphere, along with the friendly staff, creates an optimal environment for patients to enjoy their time there.
“I truly love my patients, and I think that they are equally thankful to have an inviting place to come and be treated discreetly,” added Ham.
Magnolia Behavioral Health Clinic treats adults 18 and older, and they accept most insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare. The clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8 am until 5 pm. There is no referral needed in order to be seen, so patients may call and schedule their own appointment.
