Our Hospital's History
Our hospital originated in 1965 as the consolidation of the 68 bed Community Hospital and the 30 bed Corinth Hospital. Patients first occupied the facility on December 9, 1965.
Major reconstruction/ expansions include:
- 1968 Expansion of Radiology Department
- 1969 Three bed Coronary Care Unit added to second floor
- 1972 Construction of Magnolia Doctor's Plaza
- 1981 Addition of 62 private rooms, 7 room surgical complex, 12 bed CCU
- 1986 Acquisition of Superior Home Health
- 1989 Expansion of home health to include Hospice Services
- 1992 Addition of 19 bed Crossroads Psychiatric Unit;
- 1993 Construction of new 16 bed Emergency Department
- 1994 Construction of 9 bed Women's Center
- 1995 Addition of 20 bed Transitional Care Unit
- 1996 Addition of Partial Psychiatric Program
- 2000 Addition of Corinth Surgery Center
- 2000 Addition of Community Service Center located on Harper Road.
- 2006 Magnolia Regional Health Center Named a Thomson Top 100 Hospital
- 2007 Corinth Surgery Center became Magnolia Regional Surgery Center
- 2007 Magnolia Regional Health Center Completed Construction of a 143,000 Square Foot Expansion

- All Private Patient Rooms
- 72 New Patient Rooms
- 12 Surgical Intensive Care Rooms
- 16 Private Short Stay Surgery Rooms
- 8 Private Pre and Post Heart Cath Lab Rooms
- 10 Surgery Recovery Positions
- 3 Operating Rooms for Open Heart, Vascular, Orthopedic, etc.
- New Waiting Areas for Surgery, Cath Lab, Short Stay and Surgical Intensive Care Units
- New Cardiac Rehabilitation Area
- 6 Medical Office Suites
- 2007 Magnolia Heart & Vascular Center Open: October 31, 2007
Licensed for 164 beds, we provide care to patients in Alcorn county and the five surrounding counties. Our staff is vital in accomplishing our mission and vision. Our goal is to continually improve our care and to provide this care in a cost effective manner. |  |
